PSA International Pte Ltd, formerly Port of Singapore Authority is one of the world's largest port operators

About Us

The Port of Singapore Authority was formed in 1964 to take over the functions, assets and liabilities of the Singapore Harbour Board. In August 1997, a parliamentary bill was passed to corporatise the Port of Singapore Authority, and it was renamed PSA Corporation Ltd. The company kept the name PSA but it is no longer an acronym.

PSA Singapore Terminals

Flagship Terminal - PSA Singapore Terminals is the flagship terminal of PSA International, one of the leading global port groups, with port projects spanning across Asia, Europe and the Americas.

In Singapore, PSA operates a total of 57 berths with a handling capacity of 40 million TEUs yearly at its container terminals in Tanjong Pagar, Keppel, Brani and Pasir Panjang.

To meet the future growth of global trade and long-term needs of customers, PSA is developing Pasir Panjang Terminal Phases 3 & 4 - the first set of berths began operations in 2014. When fully completed by end 2017, the new terminals will boost Singapore’s total container handling capacity to 50 million TEUs per year.

In 2015, PSA Singapore Terminals handled 30.62 million TEUs of containers. PSA is:

  • World's Busiest Transhipment Hub – accounting for almost one-seventh of the world's total container transhipment throughput and more than 4% of global container throughput.
  • One of the World's Largest Refrigerated Container (Reefer) Ports – more than 9,000 reefer points; handled over 1.7 million TEUs of reefers in 2015.
  • Excellent Connectivity – connected to 600 ports, with daily sailings to every major port in the world.

Accolades

As a port operator of choice, PSA has been voted the "Best SeaPort in Asia" for the 27th time at the 2015 Asian Freight, Logistics & Supply Chain Awards.

Strong Partnerships With Unions

PSA employees are represented by the Singapore Port Workers Union (SPWU) and the Port Officers' Union(POU). The management maintains a close relationship with both unions through constant dialogue and cooperation. This improves productivity and efficiency of port personnel, thus promoting business growth.
