The Position: On behalf of a leading European automaker, the candidate will conduct research on global startups, research institutes, and corporate innovation labs for new technologies and ideas in areas like 4D Printing (additive manufacturing) . The target consists of primary validation of solutions and options for applying 3D / 4D print, its potential as well as its adaption to technical premises and development scopes

- Global overview of the fields of application for 4D printing technology (4D additive with functional integration).

- Potentials of the technology and its solutions and outlook in short-, medium-, and long-range - Solutions space and options for the automotive industry (manufacturer besides mobility service

provider) including environmental influences

- Potential transfers of technological applications from outside the automotive sector / industries

- Potential added value and systematic approaches derived from the technology

- Impact on current state-of-the-art-development and production topics and activities of Automotive industry, e.g. spare parts

- Identification of options for 4D solutions and production feasibility up to 1000 units (small batch series)

 

Responsibilities:

·  Scout for/ interview startups and R&D projects to identify their USP and product market fit

·  Function layout, alternate modular technical concepts and materials

·  Elaboration and evaluation of concepts

 

Qualifications

·  Engineering or cross-functional product development background preferred

·  Previous VC/Startup/Accelerator experience preferred

·  Passionate about startups and has a solid understanding of the technology industry

·  Able to handle large sets of data records

·  Great team player, but also able to work on projects autonomously

·  Ambitious, highly motivated, and super keen to learn fast
