Job description
The Institute for Marine and Atmospheric research Utrecht (IMAU) is looking for a motivated Postdoctoral researcher (m/f) to work on sea level projections building on the work we have done over the last few years. Until recently sea level projections, where mainly on a global scale and uncertainties were poorly constrained. In this project we will try to bridge the gap between these global scale projection and needs of coastal zone management. We will explore possibilities to address the probability of sea level rise at a local scale for future warmer climate states. Emphasize will be at the North-Sea region.
Qualifications
Applicants preferably have a strong background in meteorology/geophysics at PhD level, and have experience with numerical (climate) models and programming on UNIX-based computer systems. Good English oral and writing skills are essential and a track record of published papers is a prerequisite.
Offer
The candidate is offered a full-time position for two years.
The salary is supplemented with a holiday bonus of 8% and an end-of-year bonus of 8,3% per year. In addition we offer a pension scheme, a partially paid parental leave, flexible employment conditions. Conditions are based on the Collective Labour Agreement Dutch Universities. The research group will provide the candidate with necessary support on all aspects of the project.
The gross salary is in the range between € 2,855,- and maximum € 3,908,- per month.
