    Paragon One is the Career-Center-as-a-Service that helps launch students' careers. Our career "masterclasses" combine project-based learning with live tutoring from professionals, giving young students the skill development they need to help land their first internships. We partner with executives from companies like Netflix, Coursera, FB, 51Talk, and more.

    Our major focus is the international education market, and in 2019 we are making a larger push into the Chinese international education space. Colleges, international schools, and Admissions/test prep companies look to us to help their students build their initial career portfolio in fields like finance, AI, data science, game design, and more.

    Paragon One is seeking a Partner and General Manager of China to oversee our operations and accelerate our growth in this market. This Partner will be seen as a co-founding Partner of China and strategic collaborator with the leadership and founding team in New York City. We are alumni of YCombinator and backed by University Ventures, Learn Capital, Foundation Capital, and the ex-CTO of Tencent.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Strategic Planning: 
    **Collaborate with leadership and founding team on business trends with a view to develop new services, products, and distribution channels 
    **Think strategically and identify opportunities for new campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will result in increased revenue 
    **Use knowledge of the market to identify and develop the company's unique selling points in China

    Leadership and Management: 
    **Forecast and establish sales targets while empowering the business development team to meet expectations 
    **Present business development training and mentoring to relevant team members 
    **Recruit and onboard team members in business development, marketing, and client operations

    New Business Development: 
    **Build and convert relationships with major strategic partners such as international schools, test prep / admissions companies, and internationally-focused colleges 
    **Negotiate terms of agreements with partners and execute on behalf of Paragon One 
    **Develop direct relationships with key education industry leaders, influencers and government contacts 
    **Develop and tailor proposals and presentation materials according to customer needs and requirements 
    **Present our products or be a speaker at related conferences

    Account Management: 
    **Manage and maintain major partner relationships. 
    **Engage directly with the largest partners post-closing to ensure high satisfaction and retention 
    **Present and up-sell existing clients with new products and services 
    **Work with the product / engineering team and other internal colleagues to meet customer needs

    Operations 
    **Oversee local China budget along with AR and AP operations with global finance team 
    **Assist with set up of local entity, necessary licenses 
    **Set up HR, payroll, office, and administration

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate will be living in or willing to move to Beijing. He/she will be a fast-paced thinker with strong relationship building skills in China, staying up to date on industry changes while having sales skills to match. The successful candidate will be hardworking and supportive of the dedicated team around them. The successful candidate will take pride in the work they do and integrate elements of both work and life to thrive in this flexible, highly responsible role.

    **7+ years of business operations or sales operations experience in the education and/or EdTech sector 
    **2+ years in a leadership role - leading a sales or BD team 
    **Fluent in both Mandarin and English (spoken and written). 
    **Experience in launching and growing blended learning or digital products in the Chinese market 
    **Understand the intricacies of relevant distribution networks and have deep relationships in the sector 
    **Experience dealing with Education Bureaus 
    **A relevant university degree from a recognised Chinese or International University 
    **Outstanding people and relationship building skills. 
    **Excellent communication skills, and an inner drive to perform. 
    **The ability to travel domestically throughout China and internationally to the US 
    **Boundless energy and enthusiasm
