Mon Ami’s online marketplace offers delightful companionship to seniors. We make it easy for seniors and their family members to find and book a college student to visit for companionship, conversation, and assistance. In the $1Tr global elder care market, this is a desperate and unmet need for the world’s fastest growing age group where social isolation and loneliness are an increasing concern.

At the heart of this challenge is our ability to find, motivate, and train companions - patient, hilarious, generous souls who love spending time with seniors. We're looking for an experienced community builder to lead that charge. You will dive into companion recruitment with zest, eventually hiring and leading a community management team with best-in-class capability and process, set product strategy and roadmaps for community messaging, training, and more, and lead innovation for companion happiness. Experience at a rapidly growing startup or managing dynamics for two-sided marketplaces is ideal.

IN SUMMARY

-- Recruit and screen for the kindest, most empathetic, crazy passionate companions from college campuses and communities all around the country

-- Make the companion onboarding and training process so awesome, they tell every single one of their friends how great it was

-- Select the tools and platforms to help companions connect to each other, taking even more pride in what they do because of who else does it with them

PRIMARY CHALLENGES IN THIS ROLE

-- Mon Ami is pioneering the concept of paid companionship. Via our platform, users are asking for a simple experience that replicates the real world feelings of safety and support. Building trust into the ecosystem through rigorous but still delightful screening processes is a challenge we relish.

-- Two-sided marketplaces require constant agility and creative thinking. Where can product nudges, user flows, and more skillful matching make a serious impact on the bottom line? We’re looking for people with a true scientific mindset, excited to experiment and learn in real time. 

YOUR ABILITIES 
-- 5+ years working in a fast-paced environment, including management experience 
-- You’re process-oriented and have experience creating systems that scale 
-- You’ve managed supply side at other marketplace companies (TaskRabbit, Uber / Lyft, Rover / Wag, etc) or have experience and excitement creating active and engaged communities, online or offline 
- You have the heart of a companion and love working with people who want to do good; you have a deep understanding of our companions’ motivations and what makes work meaningful to people 
-- You have exceptional empathy, listening, and communication skills, as judged by your peers and reports (whose references we will ask for)
