Based in San Francisco and reporting to the CMO, the Director of CRM is responsible for managing a team of seven (and growing) and overseeing the deployment of over 100 million emails and notifications on a monthly basis across a global user base. Together with the Operations and Merchandising teams, the CRM team drives over 50% of the company’s revenue across the Americas, EMEA, and APAC. The ideal candidate embraces this challenge and is comfortable with this kind of scale and pressure. The Director of CRM is responsible for managing CRM integration (Redshift, Simon Data, SendGrid, Amazon SNS); must have a good understanding of email and CRM systems, including comfort with HTML/CSS, SQL, liquid templating, payloads, email deliverability, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Own the vision and strategy for leveraging the world’s largest and most valuable wine database of customers to deliver e-commerce and engagement through CRM channels
* Manage a team of 7+ CRM managers across San Francisco, Copenhagen, and Hong Kong
* Understand and leverage the CRM tools to meet monthly revenue and traffic forecast targets across 15+ countries
* Oversee deployment of thousands of automated and manual campaigns per month - manage a pipeline of new campaign ideas to drive growth
* Pursue plans to further automate our CRM campaigns; improve workflows for CRM and merchandising teams via improved tools
* Work strategically and tactically with the eCommerce teams (that manages supply) to drive revenue on a daily basis
* Develop a CRM approach to Customer Lifecycle Marketing to increase engagement and revenue across Vivino’s app and website
* Partner with other Marketing leadership (creative, comms and paid) to develop integrated merchandising campaigns and support marketing programs
* Maintain CRM platform (Simon Data) data ingestion via PostgreSQL and support CRM team with needed segmentation filters, content lookups, and data flows
* Build emails via WYSIWYG, HTML/CSS, and Jinja, and code review CRM team’s emails; manage Vivino’s repository of email code
* Pull insights via SQL, Looker (Tableau competitor), and Excel
* Work with multiple teams across the Americas, Europe and APAC
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
* 8+ years experience across CRM and email marketing, preferably with consumer-facing e-commerce companies
* Strong communication skills and experience managing global teams
* Experience either driving multi-million dollar revenue targets and/or million plus traffic targets
* Experience working with 100+ email clients (as a global company, long-tail email clients are very important to Vivino)
* Experience managing a marketing automation tool previously, like ExactTarget, Iterable, Braze, Leanplum, etc
* Good understanding of email deliverability and configuration, including SPF and DMARC frameworks
* Strong understanding of HTML/CSS, SQL, and a liquid templating language (Vivino uses Jinja)
* Consumer e-commerce flash sales experience is a plus
* Interest in wine & the wine industry is a plus
* Bachelor degree preferred, MBA is a plus
