LBG’s Life, Pensions and Investment business spans the Scottish Widows, Clerical Medical and Halifax brands and have over £130bn of assets under management across customer and shareholder funds. 

The Investment Strategy and Execution (IS&E) team owns the relationship between LBG Insurance and its investment management partners and this role is based within the Fund Development & Analysis team of IS&E, responsible for the development and management of our range of funds available for investment by customers. This team reports on a range of investment issues to Insurance investment committees and legal entity boards and as such is regarded as an expert source of knowledge on the funds market. 

In this role, you'll be managing governance and change activity relating to unit-linked business and mutual funds across all brands and overseas funds for Clerical Medical International. Using quantitative screening and judgement you'll identify and highlight issues to be followed up within IS&E or by investment committees and you'll be involved in a range of change activities designed to improve customer outcomes. 

You'll need to have product, specialist knowledge of Investment or Fund Management principles, ideally with an understanding of portfolio construction techniques, asset allocation strategies, the different styles of managing investment funds and how fund mandates are typically structured and set up. You'll be familiar with the Life/Pension markets, current fund and market developments and structure as well as working knowledge of the ABI, IMA, FCA and the regulatory structure of funds. 

Essential Skills: 
- An ability to design and develop systems processes and databases using Microsoft Excel / VBA at a good level as well as good MS Word, MS PowerPoint and Adobe Acrobat/Distiller skills 
- Good knowledge of industry performance methodology and attribution techniques is highly desirable. 
- General knowledge of internet/intranet/extranet methods of information delivery
- Presentation and report writing skills, coupled to the ability to communicate and interpret fund mandate related messages / issues in a clear and concise manner
