We are hiring a Field Service Engineer. This role will be customer-facing and, ideally, you’ll have a good understanding of software engineering and data structures & algorithms. As a Field Service Engineer, you will build innovative products on state-of-the-art technologies that bring the experience to the application. Responsibilities
- Participate in the complete software engineering cycle- Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain and improve software
- Engage in technical design- Build reusable codes that are efficient, scalable, and stable
- Create technical documentation- Write high-quality elegant, readable, and well-documented code
- Validate code that enables customer and business goals- Evaluate and optimise code to maximise performance
- Be accountable for & maintain a sense of pride for the product- Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
- Work closely with our PM and engineering teams to define feature specifications and build the next generation of products
- Plan and execute on-site field service technical support at customer locations
Ideal Traits
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- Practical experience with Software Engineering or related field in previous roles
- Extensive professional consulting experience in the fields of cloud computing, data, information lifecycle management, and Big Data
- Experience with developing data warehousing, data lakes, batch or real-time event processing and ETL workflows solutions (i.e. Talend, Airflow, Data Services) which could include architecture design, implementing, tuning, schema design, and query optimisation of scalable and distributed systems
- Experience in and understanding of data and information management- especially as it relates to big data trends, issues within businesses, and Business Intelligence technologies
- Experience with building machine learning solutions and leveraging specific machine learning architectures (e.g., deep learning, LSTM, convolutional networks, etc.)
- Experience in writing code in a common development language such as Python and R
- Experience with traditional Analytic Warehouse solutions including SQL-Server and "Big Data" technologies
- Experience with legacy and modern application development, cloud service delivery, and deployment
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices (e.g., Agile development practice, writing unit tests and testable code, etc.)
- Good understanding of the software development cycle
- Passion for solving complex and interesting problems
- Strong analytical / critical thinking and communications skills
