IT plays a critical role in supporting every area of our business, from wholesale and international banking to insurance. With 789 software systems, 26,000 servers and 145,000 PCs and laptops [not to mention 14 million internet banking customers], it's no surprise that our helpdesk receives more than 43,000 requests a month. Of the 87 IT services we provide for our business customers, 24 need to be available 24/7. All of which makes our IT group an exceptionally dynamic and fast-moving environment to work in.

We'll look to you to be the technical expert in defining, planning and monitoring a range of IT initiatives and projects, ensuring they meet the needs of the business and that work packages follow strategic direction. Managing business relationships will be an important part of the job.

It follows that your in-depth IT technical knowledge will be accompanied by excellent interpersonal skills and proven ability to lead technical projects. You'll also be prepared to challenge accepted wisdom where necessary.

ADM Trading Client and eCommerce Technology comprises of in-house developed as well as vendor applications which are integrated across multiple platforms. The technology is primarily Java, Oracle, Unix, WebLogic and team faces off to the Commercial Banking Sales functions for eFX, MM and International payment business against Retail, Corporate and Commercial Channels

This role is for a Senior Java Developer for eCommerce projects / workstreams.

- Strong Core Java / Oracle
- Webservices, Concurrency / Multi-threading Experience, Spring Frameworks, JSPs, Servlets, Oracle PL/SQL, jQuery / JavaScript frameworks, HTML, JPA/Hibernate, JAXB, XML, XSLT, Unix, Shell Scripting
- Experience of all stages of the system development lifecycle including requirements elicitation, design, system analysis, application development and third line support.
- Proven track record of legacy application adoption and maintenance.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
- Analytical mind and strong attention to detail.
- Previous experience with Finance / eCommerce systems preferably FX / MM.
- Ability to face off to senior stakeholders and management.
