Southeast Asia has increasingly become an attractive landscape for future venture scale startups. From 2015 onwards, the region has registered a 10x+ growth in deployment of venture capital and 20x growth in GMV for these digital companies. However, we realized there was a gap in terms of the quality of angel investors that needed to be filled by investors who have the intent and capability to go beyond capital, providing technology expertise much needed by early-stage founders in Southeast Asia. 

With that goal in mind, we started XA (formerly known as “Xoogler Angels”) in 2018 as an investment collective of qualified technology executives who share the same passion and motivation to invest and help early-stage companies succeed in the region. We like to invest and work closely with promising founders of technology companies, bringing to bear our own experience building and scaling category-defining technology companies and products in Southeast Asia and worldwide. 

About The Role
 The role is to manage a broad range of responsibilities such as event organization, deal pipeline management, coordination on due diligence and investment process, and members and portfolio companies’ support. We’re looking for a self-motivated, independent, detail-oriented person that can balance multiple priorities, meetings, and deadlines. This position would be great for somebody who wants to build expertise in venture capital in Southeast Asia.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Organize events (e.g. AGM, Pitch events, Office hours, Portfolio Masterclasses,.)
• Manage our pipeline of startups in Streak
• Coordinate due diligence and investment process from beginning to the end including scheduling calls/meetings, prepare questions, take due diligence notes, setting-up a Special Purpose Vehicle if needed, coordinate with our external legal counsel
• Support members in creating and drafting an investment memo to support an investment
• Coordinate communication with portfolio companies and cascade down to our members
• You may choose to go beyond the above definition of the role to optionally extend to 

1. deal sourcing of new companies
2. coming up with ways to increase efficiency and overall NPS of the founders and angels related to their experience with XA

Required skills

• Singapore citizen or PR
• At least one year experience working with incubators/accelerators or running a hackathon
• Someone with a personal excitement and enthusiasm for the SEA startup scene
• Self-starter without significant oversight on day-to-day activities. Asking for help when needed, but fully accountable for all tasks
• Exceptionally strong communication skills, both verbal and written
• Flexibility and dexterity; must be able to think on your feet while managing several shifting priorities; the job will change day-to-day

Preferred skills

• Bachelor’s Degree in either business- or technology-related fields
• Adept at navigating online applications and collaborative tools such as Streak, Slack, Gsuite, Trello, etc.
