At 2359 Media, a backend developer's main responsibility is to design and build scalable backend applications. The developer is expected to work closely with project managers, mobile and web developers, and QA engineers to ship features on application on projects from some of the largest clients in Asia Pacific. A senior developer is also expected to provide mentorship to junior developers when asked.
The ideal Senior Backend Node JS developer should possess the following
- Prior backend programming experience
- Good understanding of OOP
- Excellent knowledge of JavaScript language (ES 2017)
- Good understanding of non-blocking concept (event loop, asynchronous flow, etc)
- Good knowledge of module system
- Experience with Node frameworks (Express, Sails, etc)
- Experience working with various database system such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Dynamo DB, Redis
- Very good SQL and relational model understanding
- Good networking fundamentals (HTTP/HTTPS, REST, Web Socket)
- Good knowledge on common web application security threats
- Good knowledge on virtualisation and containers
- Experience with cloud services such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Excellent git command knowledge
- Experience with various git flow
- Experience with CI/CD tools
- Logical thinking with good problem solving skill
- Good communication skill, and professional working proficiency in English is a must
- Bonus point for knowledge in security and dev ops aspects
