Senior Game Designer (mobile free2play) in Berlin (m/f) - META Games｜Meet.jobs

We are on our mission to grow a mobile manager game for esport fans. The ambition is to open a new genre and realize games that will be enjoyed by millions of esport enthusiasts around the globe.
Now we are looking for an experienced game designer to become part of our core team in Berlin and help build our games. You will be responsible for the overall game design and work together with our inhouse development team to test, verify and improve our game concept while bringing in your own ideas.

Ideally you have a strong background in system design, player progression and UX for mobile games and a passion for esports. Flexibility, a love for fast paced environments and knowledge of lean principles are definite pluses.

Your mission:

• Work together with our core team to continuously improve the fun in our games
• Own the game design for your game to drive reach, retention and monetization
• General free-2-play design: core-loops, audience preferences, knowledge of basic KPIs we operate with, ways to improve retention, ARPPU, conversions and engagement of our games
• Generate and share game ideas with developers and artists and help creatively focus the team to make a great mobile game. Running communications, brainstorms, kick-offs, collecting feedback and communicating changes.
• Analyse the games very own KPIs and understand how to adapt the game to sustainable improve them

Your Requirements:

• You shipped at least 2 games before as a game designer for mobile free2play games
• You understand and love esports and play some of the following games: MOBAs (League of Legends, Dota, Mobile Legends), FPS (CS:GO, Call of Duty), Battle Royale ( PUBG, Fortnite, Free Fire)
• You have a deep understanding of player progression, meta-systems, game economies and balancing
• You can assess, model and test new ideas with an analytical approach and have experience in prototyping game mechanics and economies
• You know a lot about usability, interaction design and UX on mobile devices
• You are up to date with the fast-paced mobile games market with good knowledge of the industry landscape and mobile game KPIs
• You are a problem solver at heart, willing to learn what you do not already know and are proactively looking for answers.
• You are self-sufficiency and able to own a feature from concept to implementation to QA
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English

Bonus Skills:

• Degree in game design or communication design
• You designed games previously for the mid-core mobile games market
