ABOUT THE ROLE
You’ll join a small agile team of 4 engineers with diverse backgrounds (aeronautical engineering, biomedical engineering, computer science, innovation; product) who have recently developed and shipped two iOS apps for both our external customers and internal operators. You’ll take part in, not only maintaining and updating the existing applications, but also be involved in a brand-new drone station control application. Currently we use AWS, Electron, React-Native and other technologies to implement our apps and are looking for someone who is comfortable working with these.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

• Build applications for both internal and external operations
• Make development decisions to satisfy upstream software requirements
• Evaluate and develop algorithms to automate labour intensive operational tasks
• Configure AWS services to implement and optimise application functionalities
• Maintain and update the existing in-house developed products

WHAT YOU’LL HAVE

• Strong understanding of software development processes and computer programme implementations.
• Experience with software design, GUI implementation and mobile application developments using React-Native
• Programming experience with C++ and JavaScript
• Familiarity with UNIX command line tools.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles.

Bonus points for you also having more than one of these:

• Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
• Familiarity with or interest in drones and their basics components.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and cloud-based security services.
• Familiarity or strong interest in algorithmic designs.
• Understanding of UI/UX and more generic HMI topics.
• Experience with AWS infrastructure set up.
• Experience with iOS/MacOS and Android developments.
• Experience with ROS, Arduino, Raspberry Pi or similar platforms.
