    The British Museum is seeking a Project Assistant to be part of an exciting and dynamic team providing support to a group of project managers for the development and delivery of the Museum’s portfolio of International Touring Exhibitions to overseas hosts. The Project Assistant will in particular facilitate and support the production of exhibition materials (catalogue, panel and label text and contextual materials) and marketing materials.

    Key areas of responsibility:

    • To provide general project support functions to international exhibition project teams, as required including:

    o preparing exhibition marketing materials and presentations;
    o supporting and coordinating the preparation and cross-checking of exhibition materials including: object lists, catalogue and exhibition text, images and contextual materials (e.g. maps and films) for international exhibition projects;
    o contributing to project board reports;
    o gathering estimates and contracting with suppliers;
    o producing agendas and minute taking;
    o research tasks

    • To act as liaison with exhibition stakeholders and suppliers on behalf of the Department.

    Person Specification:

    The post holder will be a university graduate or hold the equivalent qualifications and have excellent written and verbal communication skills. A sense of tact and diplomacy and the ability to adopt a culturally sensitive approach are essential as is proven organisational and administrative experience. They will be adept at using the Microsoft office package with the ability to prioritise work, and manage a variety and volume of tasks independently to meet deadlines. They will have a strong interest in pursuing a career as an exhibition project manager.
