    Our Data Ecosystem is now used by the bank to power all new digital applications. Data is at the heart of our transformation through the application of new technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, Neo4J, ElasticSearch and other open source technology and the adoption of new methods of work. We follow agile principles and take new approaches to software delivery, using test driven development and a continuous integration platform.

     

    We're responsible for the end-to-end and side-to-side aspects of the data business, from data integration and exploitation, data modelling and architecture to data governance. We design, test and deploy applications and are responsible for the strategy through to implementation, change management and communication.

    We are looking for a Data Engineer to serve as the technical lead of the Data Acquisition and Store team within Data Innovation. They will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of use cases where new data acquisition or storage solutions are needed on the Data Ecosystem.

     

    The successful candidate will lead a team of engineers and interact with stakeholders across different projects, so will have to leverage a strong technical background but also functional knowledge to be able to communicate effectively. Autonomy, collaboration, speaking up and service mindset will also be key skills to thrive in this position. What we're looking for

     

    Experienced in graph databases, ideally Neo4J Certified Professional, with demonstrable hands-on experience in designing, building and testing graph data workloads (batch and streaming).

    Experienced in PostgreSQL and RabbitMQ.

    Working knowledge of ElasticSearch and Big Data components / Cloudera platform: Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Impala, Kafka, Kafka Connect.

    Programming languages: cypher, java, scala, shellscript, sql, hql.

    Solid engineering foundations, including: test automation, continuous integration and continuous delivery; solution design and software architecture; agile software development, preferably test driven development or behaviour driven development.

    Other desirable tools and skills: APIs, Neptune, AWS, Jenkins, OpenShift, data governance (integrity and security).
