    We're looking for:
    A Business Development Manager to build-out Laika's strategic relationships in the venture capital ecosystem. The role is all about developing relationships with startup lawyers, VCs, accelerators, angel investors, startup CPA firms, and other partners who have their own relationships with startup and growth stage companies who need help with security compliance.

    Your mission--should you choose to accept it--would be to foster, develop, manage, and support existing and prospective relationships with channel/distribution partners. You'll act as the point person for Laika's go-to-market initiatives, including evangelizing Laika products with partners to generate introductions and referrals with new prospective customers.

    You'll:

    • Create champions for our products within lawyers, VCs, accelerators, etc.
    • Use Salesforce to map partner contacts by firm and geography and maintain our partner contact ecosystem
    • Deliver Laika value proposition and training and enablement to partners
    • Collaborate with business development peers to leverage contacts across geographies and create account plans for the respective partners
    • Work cross-functionally across sales, marketing, and product
    • Operate in the field as a representative of Laika, meeting with partners, attending events, and hosting Laika events (including virtual events on Zoom etc.)

    We're looking for:

    • A fierce entrepreneurial mindset
    • Outstanding communication, presentation, and networking skills w/ founders, C-levels, partner-level lawyers/investors
    • Significant prior exposure to VCs, angel investors, startup attorneys, accelerators, etc.
    • Expert-knowledge of SaaS business models
    • 2-6 years of relevant experience as an early-stage startup teammate or venture investor

    It's a bonus (but not required) that you also have:

    • You are a former founder or an aspiring founder
    • You've built partnerships in the startup ecosystem in the past at a company with < 100 employees
    • You used to be a venture capitalist or a startup attorney
    • You have a fantastic network of contacts in the VC ecosystem already (startup-focused lawyers, VC investors, other founders, startup CPAs, etc)
