Who are we?

Wayfair is the largest pure-play online retailer for home in the US. We are targeting over 100% growth rates in Europe and are growing our business here aggressively. In this context, we are seeking a strong Operations leader to add to our growing team. We are looking for a hands-on leader with solid operational experience, great communication skills, and a strong drive to improve performance using analytics and collaborative negotiation. This leadership role will manage and oversee key supply chain functions for our company and drive improvement across supplier operations, logistics, distribution, inventory management. This person will help us build and sustain a best-in-class fulfillment operation across many European geographies and all of our brands.

The role

This leader will be part of the European Senior Management Team and directly reports to the Head of European Operations. Located in Berlin, this role will likely require activity and travel across many European economies, so fluency in English is a must. German and/or other major European commercial languages (French, Spanish) will be important to developing relationships required for the success of this business.

Your responsibilities

- Champion the global “Fast, On-Time, Clean” supply chain initiative for the European market
- Use data and analytic skills to identify problems and determine strategy
- Build collaborative relationships with key partners inside and outside Wayfair
- Improve processes and partner performance to generate exceptional fulfillment experience for customers
- Drive multi-faceted improvement roadmap across your own and other partner teams
- Manage and lead operations teams across our locations in Berlin, Galway and London

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

- Proven track record of operational leadership and supply chain expertise
- Top-tier university qualifications, MBA preferred
- Strong project management skills, experience with distribution and international logistics a plus
- Very comfortable with implementing new technology
- Ability to think strategically and tactically within a dynamic, fast-paced organization
- Fluency in English and one additional major European language required (German preferred)
- Strong people development skills, experience managing remote teams a plus
- Hands-on mentality
- Ability to manage in a deadline and result driven environment
- Flexibility to travel
