    Aera is an early-stage venture capital fund, investing in deep-tech ventures underpinned by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. The Partners are establishing a high-performing and diversified team in Singapore, with this new role having significant impact on the future of sustainable investing.

    The Fund Operations and Finance Director will oversee the compliance, finance, local management and operations of Aera's global fund. Experience in upholding relevant regulatory requirements and compliance is essential. An interest in numbers and organisation is important, as well as being comfortable working independently and remotely.

    Prior experience with fund management, private banking or financial services, in an international role based in Singapore is highly desired. The position is the front facing designated representative for MAS and will sit as a director on various Aera entities, and be the nominated Compliance and AML Officer. Therefore, experience sitting on or as an observer to boards and board processes is required.

    • This role requires some flexibility to support Partners across multiple time zones.

    Key Responsibilities
    1) Compliance and Regulatory Management: Oversight of MAS (Monetary Authority of Singapore) license requirements and other jurisdictions where required to ensure the Group is at all times meeting its obligations.

    • Ensure all internal processes and reporting align to any regulatory requirements in relation to our operating license.
    • Uphold and act with the highest standards in all communication and matters, while representing Aera at all times.
    • Stay up to date and advise Aera of any new or changing regulatory updates which may arise including any training required.
    • As the designated Compliance and AML Officer on the Board, ensure that all regulatory compliance obligations are met and ensure filing, tax and reporting obligations are met for the Group.

    2) Operations and Finance Management: Oversee all administrative processes locally and globally for the fund.

    • Ensure all operational duties are met in accordance with the Aera Business Plan.
    • Adhere to all budgets as set out by the Aera Business Plan.
    • Ensure all financial requirements, including tax and reporting obligations are met, presented accurately and on time.
    • Preparation and support of appropriate materials for board and shareholder meetings and appropriate quorum and decision making has been documented.
    • Management of relationships with local and international legal and accounting partners.
    • Management of relationships with the appointed local (third-party) Fund administrator and corporate secretary, including ensuring the accurate delivery of their requirements.
    • Ensure all reporting, investor updates, information and other material is kept up to date and in an accessible and organised way.
    • Drive portfolio valuation reporting and processes as required.
    • Manage the annual Fund audit process.
    • Maintain clear and accurate records at all times.
    • Manage group human resources and staff, including payroll.
    • Provide board-level support and insight across the group.
    • Ensure seamless execution of investment decisions as the portfolio builds.
    • Ensure portfolio construction and investment proposals are within remit of the Fund mandate.

    3) Organisational Development Support: Support the Partners with Fundraisings and other initiatives.

    • Keep a strategic lens on opportunities and potential for future developments.
    • Support Partners with any research or due diligence as required.
    • Provide support to the Singapore ecosystem as the Aera representative.
    • Assist with potential onboarding of investors and ongoing Fund marketing.
    • Provide local mentoring for Singapore-based Aera analyst.
