Certemy is backed by a leading venture capital company and is led by an experienced team of entrepreneurs who have started up, sold, and taken public previous technology ventures. The company is headquartered in Tarzana, CA and works with a remote team across the United States. We are looking to add a backend software engineer to help us extend our leading-edge certification & licensing management SaaS platform.

What you’ll do

• Work closely with the engineering and product teams to architect and implement a best practice driven architecture and write robust, modular, testable code
• Own the development of functionality across the frontend and backend by writing AngularJS/Typescript components and backend functionality in NodeJS/Typescript and Java in a dockerized AWS environment
• Prototype proof of concept solutions to guide the development process of new applications
• Diagnose application performance issues
• Build out Certemy’s data reporting capabilities to assist stakeholders in generating insights from the massive amounts of data collected via the platform

What you’ll need

• A proven track record of delivering and maintaining software in a production environment
• Hands on experience with building single page applications in a modern framework like Angular, React or Vue
• Experience developing backend services in NodeJS/Typescript and/or Java
• An ability to express complex processes via writing and diagraming
• Experience covering your code with automated testing
• Experience working with APM and log aggregation tools like New Relic//ELK/Datadog, building custom dashboards and leveraging them for monitoring systems
• Willingness to explore and learn new technologies for a continuous improvement of the Certemy applications

Bonus Points

• Worked on a SaaS platform sold to enterprise customers and familiar with a modular architecture to support the ability to turn modules on/off easily as customers purchase new functionality
• Experience working on a remote team
