CircleCI is looking for a seasoned software engineer with a background in driving efforts across multiple teams by utilizing functional programming, designing distributed systems, and evolving from a monolith to microservices.
You will be an integral part of The Plans and Payments team, where you will work alongside numerous internal stakeholders, including Finance, Marketing, Sales, Product, and Design, to iteratively support and enhance our best-in-class, usage-based revenue system with to-the-second billing.
To succeed in this role, you work across several cross-functional teams to architect and maintain a microservice architecture while contributing to organization-wide testing strategies. You foster a culture of collaboration and trust with internal stakeholders and advocate for the engineering needs of our team while ensuring our roadmap commitments stay on track. You mentor teammates with empathy, patience, and respect. You cooperate with engineering leadership to establish, update, and maintain process to ensure transparency and alignment across the entire engineering organization.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys collaboration, is curious and interested in learning, brings strong communication and teamwork skills, and helps others grow by sharing their expertise and encouraging best practices.
If you’re interested in joining the team at CircleCI, please send a resumé and cover letter describing what inspires you and why you think you are a good fit for the team. If you contribute to an open-source project, write a blog, or have a presence on the web (GitHub, Twitter, Stack, etc.) we would love to hear about it.
We know there’s no such thing as a "perfect” candidate - we’re all a work in progress and are growing new skills and capabilities all the time. CircleCI welcomes those who are enthusiastic about learning and evolving, so however you identify and whatever your background, if this looks like a role where you could do work that excites you, we hope you’ll apply.
We’re a distributed company with offices in San Francisco, Denver, Boston, Toronto, Japan, and teammates across the globe. We would be hiring you as a full-time employee, and are looking to hire someone who is already located in the United States or Canada. Given the nature of requests we receive on this team, you will need at least six hours of overlap with US Pacific time.
This role equals level E5 on our Engineering Competency Matrix, our internal career growth system for engineers. These are the minimum expectation for this position, but we are always willing to discuss bringing people on at more senior positions when appropriate. Find more about the matrix in this blog post.
