Overview
As Operations Lead, you'll be executing on myriad challenges at the edge of the crypto industry, with a high level of ownership and a tight iteration loop. Your immediate coworkers include our C-Suite (e.g., Scott Hershorin, ex-CCO at Robinhood Crypto]; Bart Cocales, long-time MD at BlackRock; etc), Managing Partners, and key stakeholders on both the Venture and Liquid fund teams.
To be successful in this role, you should be insanely passionate about crypto and looking to rapidly accelerate your career in the space, as well as comfortable with flexible and entrepreneurial work environments. You should also have a solid understanding of the unique challenges that crypto can pose, be comfortable pulling definition from ambiguity, and pride yourself on your initiative. The best candidates will be constantly trying to automate themselves out of their job. (Don’t worry, though; we don’t see that actually happening if you do this well. :)
Functional Responsibilities
- Manage key relationships with external stakeholders (e.g., vendors, counterparties, fund admins, other financial service providers)
- Assist in post-trade reconciliation and generating monthly NAV through delegation and/or execution
- Work with cross-functional stakeholders to improve firm-wide processes
- Ensure, maintain, and enforce proper internal and external security processes
- Broadly identify, execute, and document procedural improvements
- Safeguard the time of your colleagues and help ensure they’re focused on their highest-leverage skills
Requirements
- At least three years of non-trivial Operations experience
- Experience working within an Operations role within crypto
- Experience working in startups and/or early-stage environments
- Ability to deal with complicated, unstructured problems (crypto is a complicated industry!)
- An aptitude for thinking critically about how things work at various levels internally and externally
- Adaptability and strong work ethic, with a “no task too big or too small” mindset
- Exceptional organizational, communication, and prioritization skills
- Ability to interact across cultures and businesses
- Ability to balance short-term tactics with long-term perspective
- Passion for cryptocurrency and blockchain
- Strong ethical code
Preferred
- Operational experience within both crypto and traditional financial services
- Familiarity with relevant crypto tools and forums (e.g., know your way around Crypto Twitter, Dune Analytics, navigating contracts on Etherscan)
- Intrinsically motivated to learn about crypto data
