Responsibilities
- You will be in a scrum team as a Backend Engineer working collaboratively and driving initiatives across the groups.
- You will be hands-on with the design, development, and deployment of microservice software solutions.
- You will be responsible for managing the backend architecture in the team.
- You will be working in a fast-paced environment where the project direction can change quickly according to the marketing strategy.
- You will work in short sprints and collaborate with other teams on business-critical projects.
- Design, build and maintain APIs, Webhooks, and SDK of Globelise products.
- Design, build and maintain solutions to integrate to partner and 3rd party platforms.
- Develop documentation and instructions on how to work with Globelise SDK & APIs.
- Your day to day activities will consist of solution design and hands-on software development – working closely with leads, designers, and product managers in the Marketing and Engagement group, developing and iterating on technical proposals – outlining how solutions will be structured and developed.
- Developing solutions you’ve designed from the ground up through to deployment into production.
- Once you’ve settled in and have a comfortable grasp of the product, environment, and processes, you’ll be given more responsibility and start leveraging your previous experience — bringing new ideas to the table concerning everything from feature development, process improvement, and product suggestions.
- Developing and iterating on technical proposals – outlining how solutions will be structured and developed.
- Identifying and addressing performance bottlenecks within the application and broader infrastructure.
- Performance debugging, benchmarking and building awesome things in general.
Requirements
- Experience developing in Rust (this is a strict requirement).
- Experience with microservice architecture is preferable.
- Possess at least 4-5 years of technical experience.
- Previous experience developing REST and/or GraphQL APIs using a variety of technologies such as Dapr.
- Experience in designing and developing tools and solutions used across teams.
- Development experience in object-oriented programming languages and patterns.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Good knowledge of internet plumbing (lots of three-letter-acronyms here: DNS, TLS, CDN, PKI) and approaches to sustain a zero-trust internal service model.
- Experience using test automation tools. (Selenium, Capybara, Watir).
- Optimizing full-stack implementation, e.g. I/O, caching.
- Experience using Continuous Integration systems (e.g., GitLab CI, Jenkins, Travis).
- Experience using Docker and containerized architectures (e.g. Kubernetes).
- Strong problem analysis and solving skills, methodological in problem-solving.
- Must be a proven fast learner and self-starter.
