We are looking for outstanding test engineers in our new Birmingham city centre hub, to help deliver demanding and exciting digital services for the UK Government.
As a test engineer you will help build and assure applications used by some of our 100,000 DWP staff and over 22 million claimants.
You will be part of a multi-disciplinary agile team and be an integral part of designing and building automated test solutions that assure quality services which meet the needs of our agents and claimants.

In this role you will test and assure applications that DWP users need and rely on. You'll help us build service that work for us and the people that need them.
You understand the right depth and breadth of testing, and can pick the right tool for the job, to make sure we build modern digital products and services that are robust, stable and accessible.
You'll be responsible for testing all areas of the products, including but not limited to functional, business requirements, performance, security and accessibility.
You'll also be part of a brilliant Test community, where you can build your skills and your career as well as discussing the latest technology trends, tools and best practices within Test Engineering.
What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
We'll ask you to submit a CV, via our online portal, which demonstrates:
Experience of working in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment, delivering products within specific time-scales and engaging with multiple senior Stakeholders.
Experience of BDD (behaviour driven development) and TDD (test driven development) processes, and an understanding of the key principles to develop a modern standards approach to testing.
Experience in the development of automated test suites and tools including Java, Selenium v3.14.1+, Cucumber , Jenkins v2.11+, SOAP/REST Webservices/API testing.
Experience of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery - Methodology and tools (i.e. GIT, Gitlab CI).
An understanding of the following test phases and standards associated to Performance Test, Accessibility Test, Security Test and Compatibility Test.
