    Tasks

    We are looking for a (Senior) Data Analyst (f/m/d) to join our Group Finance and Controlling Team in Berlin. You are passionate about data, highly committed, pro-active and keen to be part of the world's fastest growing music company, BMG.

    Your Mission
    As part of BMG's headquarter finance team, you'll be a focal point for data analysis, generate meaningful business insights based on financial KPIs and take responsibility to support us in growing our finance-related data architecture. You'll closely collaborate with our international finance teams around the world and work cross-functional with various business partners such as our Data, IT and Royalties departments.

    Your Responsibilities

    • Prepare, wrangle, model and query big data volume for ongoing business analysis
    • Visualize reports and create meaningful dashboards for business users and management reporting
    • Set up and own finance-related databases in Google BigQuery and ensure consistency and completeness
    • Further develop and enhance our data architecture with regards to master and transactional sales, P&L and cash flow data
    • Act as an interface between finance teams and technical roles such as our data engineers
    • Support in the BMG-wide planning process and investment controlling projects as well as in deal economics, performance analysis and finance automation projects
     

    Profile

    • You have successfully completed an education in the fields of data science, business informatics, Business Administration or in a related field.
    • You gained professional working experience in either a data analyst and/or controlling role, preferably in a fast-moving international corporate environment.
    • You are eager and able to learn and fully understand databases, data concepts and applications.
    • In addition to your strong skills in Excel and SQL, you ideally have experience in Google BigQuery, Python (or related analytical programming languages) and/or SAP / BW.
    • You are proficient in using data visualization tools like Tableau, Looker or Data Studio as part of your storytelling.
    • You have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to steer projects in collaboration with international teams across departments and territories.
    • Your English skills are excellent. Moderate German skills are desirable.
