    Where your expertise is needed

    As Head of Business Intelligence for Customer Fulfillment (Logistics & Customer Care), you lead a complete data stack of BI Engineering, Data Analytics and Reporting. In addition, you lead the BI Project Management team which executes the BI projects in an Agile fashion. You understand our complex fulfillment business model, event-driven software systems and enable BI products that can answer all our data questions and you have a proven track record in making BI systems and data models scalable for future business expansion.

     

    • Lead multiple BI teams (20+ FTEs) responsible for managing the data warehouse for fulfilment business (Logistics & Customer Care), developing analytics, KPIs, reports, dashboards and providing data insights to 400+ direct stakeholders in & outside of Zalando’s biggest business unit

    • Consult senior stakeholders and support solving complex business problems with business analytics, be the bridge between senior management and the BI teams

    • Manage the overall BI project backlog. Lead conceptualisation, prioritisation and delivery of projects for the business in alliance with the Project Managers

    • Review and Execute the BI strategy in place and lead the BI department into the vision by enabling useful datasets, insightful reporting and impactful BI products. Align BI strategy with the overall business strategy and central data strategy

    • Be the Subject Matter Expert of BI and Analytics, both technically and functionally. Deliver Executive analysis and insights. Promote Self BI and data driven culture in the organization.

     

    What we're looking for

    • A leader with 10+ years of experience building, developing and leading Business Intelligence involving multiple teams of Engineering, Analytics, Reporting and PMO functions

    • Experience with delivery for large scale organisations, delivery of projects and leading Project Management in both Waterfall and Agile frameworks

    • Solid technical knowledge of databases (oracle, Exasol), SQL, data warehousing, data modelling, data governance, CI/CD, enterprise reporting (MicroStrategy) business intelligence concepts, cloud implementation (AWS) with frameworks like Data Bricks, Kafka, Nakadi, Data Lake, Lakehouse

    • Strong stakeholder management skills, presentation skills to present concepts, designs, proposals to senior management with storytelling

    • Prior experience of being a hiring manager for data and BI roles. Ability to expand the team, pitch for resources with facts to the management and partner with Talent Acquisition
