    Borealis Maritime GmbH & Co. KG, Hamburg, is offering a position for a technical purchaser and PA (M/F/D). Preferably with experience in the shipping sector for its office in Hamburg/Germany. The right candidate will join a motivated team with the aim of organizing just-in-time high-quality parts and goods for the company’s managed vessels. The position offers a potential for professional development within a growing organisation.

     

    The Job

    The right candidate will be responsible for:

    • Purchasing of technical parts and goods/supplies
    • Close coordination with the technical superintendent
    • Responsibility for monitoring operating suppliers and prices and exercise close budget control
    • Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of purchase budgets and out-of-budgets costs to the management/superintendent
    • Assistance and advice to technical superintendent/management in general
    • Regular personal assistance and administrative duties to the senior management
    • Follow-up on the vessels’ maintenance plans ensuring optimal operational efficiency
     

    You bring

    The ideal candidate will have the following competencies:  

    • Has optimal at least 3 years of experience and proven ability as technical purchaser or similar position as well as some experience in personal assistance
    • Background is preferably an education as a shipping clerk (Schifffahrtskaufmann) or similar education/experience
    • Good skills in MS Office products
    • Have demonstrated experience with technical purchasing for ships
    • Can handle the third-party suppliers in seeking solutions for the optimal technical parts/goods
    • Organizing the transport/customs for purchased parts and goods
    • Has passion for excellence and working in a fast-paced technical purchasing environment
    • Has good interpersonal and communication skills, is well organized and has sharp analytical skills
    • Fluent in both spoken and written English
    • EU work permit
