    Job description

    About the role

You will be joining our smart contract engineering team, where you will learn how to design, program and secure web3 products by applying your knowledge of numerical analysis and computer algebra combined with your programming experience.
*Web3 and blockchain experience is explicitly not required, but strong mathematical skills are required. *

    You will

    • Write smart contracts in Vyper (like Python), Solidity (Javacript-like), Rust and other languages.
    • Read and understand technical and mathematical documents.
    • Deploy and test applications across multiple blockchains.
    • Be opinionated and influence application design over time as you gain experience.
    • Apply fundamental knowledge in mathematics and CS to the design and implementation of decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

    What you will achieve

In the first month, you will build a deep understanding of Polymer Lab’s core protocol and begin contributing to the product. You will have time to learn about the space, our customer’s needs, and the underlying technology.
Within 3 months, you will have bootstrapped your knowledge base and will be actively contributing to the core application protocols on various blockchains.

    You have

    • The ability to collaboratively contribute to projects from inception to delivery (i.e. plan and gather requirements).
    • A flexible, collaborative working style. We’re a small team working in a rapidly evolving space. We’re looking for people that will help build a positive, supportive environment.
    • Excellent understanding of both numerical analysis and computer algebra. We are building applications that require mathematical confidence to reason about the code and implementation.
    • Strong foundation in CS fundamentals (data structures and algorithms).

    About the team

Our engineering team is a diverse group of people with backgrounds working at a variety of both web2 and web3 organizations like Uber, Chronosphere, BadgerDAO and Bancor etc. Polymer Labs is a software development shop supporting the Polymer protocol and associated products which will be managed by Polymer DAO (decentralized autonomous organization).

    Our Benefits

    Health insurance coverage
    Free lunches
    Competitive salary
    Equity/Token grants
    Incentive compensation

Polymer Labs is an equal opportunity employer. You're encouraged to apply even if your experience doesn't line up exactly with the job description.
