    Job description

    About Polycam:

Polycam is quickly establishing itself as the most popular 3D capture app in the world. Our mission is to make 3D capture more accessible, helpful, and fun.

Polycam is backed by outstanding investors including Sequoia Capital, Chad Hurley (Co-Founder of YouTube), and Adjacent.

    The Role:

Polycam is quickly establishing itself as the most popular 3D capture tool in the world. Our mission is to make 3D capture more accessible, helpful, and fun.

We’re looking for a talented designer to join our small team. You’ll be working on Polycam’s mobile capture app, as well as our browser-based desktop app.

Our ideal candidate is passionate about creative tools, AR/XR/3D, and prototyping interfaces for emerging technologies.

    You will:

    • Create designs, mockups, and prototypes for Polycam’s mobile and web apps.
    • Participate in customer interviews to understand how Polycam’s users’ needs are currently being met (or not).
    • Drastically influence and drive Polycam’s branding.
    • Develop a component-ized design system that can be applied across mobile and web.
    • Work in a highly collaborative fashion with engineers to ensure clarity in how your designs are implemented and used.
    • Parse analytics and usage data to gather evidence about user patterns.

You may be a fit for this role if you:

    • Have experience designing AR, camera, or 3D-related mobile apps.
    • Have experience designing a desktop (keyboard and mouse) creative tool.
    • Care deeply about repeatable, component-based design systems.
    • Can reduce highly complex problems to their essential tradeoffs and neatly make decisions
    • Have 2+ years of experience working as a designer on a technology product or small startup.

Some things you may work on:

    • Improving Polycam’s camera-based capture experience.
    • Designing tools for editing 3D meshes on a mobile interface.
    • Creating a design system (buttons, dropdowns, inputs) which is stylistically consistent across mobile and web.

    Why join Polycam?

    • We have great traction both in terms of active users and paid subscribers, and our core metrics are growing at a fast rate. Happy to share the numbers if you're interested in learning more.

    • We've received seed funding from Sequoia Capital, Chad Hurley (cofounder of YouTube) and other great investors.

    • The founding team of Polycam has many years of experience working on 3D reconstruction for mobile, and previously worked together to build Display.Land, a predecessor 3D capture app.
