    What to expect

We have an exciting opportunity for an engineer to join the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) Wheel and Tyre Core Team at Gaydon in the UK, as project engineer for wheels and tyres standards and research.

We offer interesting work within a friendly atmosphere in a flexible professional hard-working team, implementing a clear vision and strategy, which team members help to shape, giving everyone considerable responsibilities and recognition of their efforts, and credit for their successes.

The team impacts all JLR Vehicles, creating and owning the process for component delivery for wheels, tyres and puncture management systems. Being the knowledge holders for the components, the team interacts with multiple areas of the business, including attribute teams, manufacturing, design, marketing, research and regulation. The team also supports the introduction of new technologies and works extensively on forward model architectures.

Ideally you will have some knowledge of wheels and/or tyres development, and you must have some relevant experience with defining requirements or minimum standards, test procedures, failure mode analysis and quality management.

Any knowledge of areas of expertise affected by wheels and tyres, would be a bonus, as would knowledge of tyre and/or wheel manufacturing, wheel and tyre assembly, puncture management systems (PMS), or tyre pressure monitoring systems (TPMS).

The team has a proven track record of providing a wide range of training and personal development activities, both formal and informally. The team is well established and has a good reputation for technical expertise with genuine influence on shaping JLR's vehicles through the important role of wheels and tyres.

    Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

    * Continuously look for process improvements, efficiencies, cost reductions, quality improvements and developing capability to deliver commodities with aid of virtual or simulation techniques (CAE)
    * Sharing knowledge and educating engineers outside the team on subject matters related to wheels and tyres
