Our Optical Communications segment has recently evolved from being a manufacturer of optical fiber and cable, hardware and equipment to being a comprehensive provider of industry-leading optical solutions across the broader communications industry.This segment is classified into two main product groupings – carrier network and enterprise network. The carrier network product group consists primarily of products and solutions for optical-based communications infrastructure for services such as video, data and voice communications. The enterprise network product group consists primarily of optical-based communication networks sold to businesses, governments and individuals for their own use.
Role Purpose:
• You own a part of the cable assemblies business in EMEA independently and drive our product portfolio, underlying services as well as commercial actions to generate profitable growth while managing complexity – as needed from the level of our long-term vision down to the detail of individual customer orders
Key Responsibilities:
• Holistic responsibility for the entire lifecycle of a sub-portfolio, from requirements management through product development, market launch, manufacturing and supply chain to phase-out characterises this role, with the majority of your energy focused on pre-launch activities
• Your willingness to serve, take responsibility, patiently accept challenges, as well as your guidance in selecting suitable assemblies, taking into account possible delivery times, is legendary and ensures our commercial team is able to catch the extra business
• Conducting product training, representing our product line towards customers and distribution partners and ensuring the availability of product data are close to your heart and are enriched by your broad knowledge of markets, applications and competitors
• Based on your ability to analyse and evaluate, a healthy dose of intuition and strong communication up, down and sideways, you find it easy to connect different perspectives and data points into a holistic picture and lead cross-functional teams to consensus in the best interest of our clients and us
• Maintaining the consistency of our part numbering scheme is important to you in order to ensure standardisation, highest quality and scalability ultimately enhancing the speed of quotations and customer orders to achieve a flawless customer experience
• Working closely with commercial colleagues on a day-to-day basis provides you not only with fresh market insights but also with a clear understanding of our clients' future ordering behaviour, which you transform into short- and long-term demand forecasts and coordinate capacity and inventory optimisation with the operations team
Experiences/Education:
• Your steadfast self-initiative and your strong will to find solutions let you always look for alternative path even in difficult situations, which you overcome thanks to both your own contribution and as a strong team player
• Keeping track of various parallel commercial, operational, strategic and tactical activities and making balanced choices between the urgent and the important on a daily basis sounds rather exciting than burdensome to you
• Adapting quickly to changing circumstances and priorities is not hard for you, learning to use new tools is rather a joy and you don't need every little detail to progress
• Distinct practical knowledge of Microsoft Office tools round off your structured way of working that is seeking for continuous improvement
• Academically, you hold a master's degree in a technical or business field or a related bachelor's degree with relevant additional experience
• Possessing Polish language skills is a plus but not a necessity
