Core Services owns systems that are central to our engineering organization and codebase. This team is critical to the health of our organization, and there are a lot of opportunities for large scale impact and growth!

What you’ll do:

• Work on systems critical to onboarding Maven's clients
• Own data models and services that are used across web, Android, and iOS
• Implement performance metrics and tuning
• Collaborate with other engineering teams on service designs and RFCs
• Share knowledge and mentor

Who you are:

• You have experience owning and maintaining large, complex services
• You have experience building monitoring, alerts, and run books
• You think about systems and services and write high quality code—we work mostly in Python. However, languages can be learned: we care more about your engineering skill than knowledge of a particular language or framework.
• You hold yourself and others to a high bar when working with production systems
• You take pride in working on projects to successful completion involving a wide variety of technologies and systems.
• You thrive in a collaborative environment where expertise and responsibility is shared with teammates across disciplines.
• You have a passion for good test coverage and always automating

Requirements:

• 4+ years experience building backend services for production web applications

• Experience with:

  • SQL
  • Service Oriented Architecture
  • Event Driven Architecture
  • REST API

• End-to-end ownership of feature development
