Description

At alvee we rely on our dynamic team of engineers to solve the many challenges and puzzles that come with our rapidly evolving health equity technical stack. We’re seeking a senior dev/test engineer who is ready to work with new technologies and architectures in a forward-thinking organization that’s always pushing boundaries. Here, you will take complete, end-to-end ownership of dev/test projects and components across the entire stack. Our ideal candidate has experience building and testing products across the stack and a firm understanding of web frameworks, APIs, databases, and multiple back end languages. You’ll be joining a small team working at the forefront of new technology, solving the challenges that impact both the front end and back end architecture, and ultimately, deliver amazing global customer experiences.

This role is flexible and can be started as a part time position if desired.

Our team is currently 100% remote. We plan to eventually open an office in Miami where we are headquartered (going into office will still be optional).

We are a Techstars portfolio company ('22)

We are venture backed and have closed a small pre-seed round of funding.

Salary/equity will be based on experience and is negotiable.

Up to 20 hours a week initially for part-time

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

 

Establish a framework and DevTest methodology for necessary contributions from various departments and facilitate their collaboration 

Document and monitor testing outcomes and establish steps to remedy problems

Analyze current technologies used within the company and develop steps and processes to improve testing and bug smashing procedures 

Detailed understanding of how to properly document unit/test cases and create effective and focused testing plans and workflows

Assist other department engineers in creating practical demonstrations of proposed solutions and demonstrating them to other members of the team

Work closely with departments within the company to ensure resources are available for projects and working properly 

Provide detailed engineering DevTest specifications for proposed solutions including time and scope involved

Define clear goals for all aspects of a product test and develop steps for their proper execution 

 

Required Skills and Qualifications

 

7-10 years hands-on experience in software development and testing of large scale web/mobile applications

Expert level debugging/testing and optimization skills

Excellent English speaking/writing communicator and collaborator

Project development and leadership skills are essential in planning and overseeing project tests

BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field is preferred 

Current understanding of best practices regarding system security measures 

Advanced understanding experience with software engineering, customer experience and design architecture 

Ability to work with various departments to facilitate the orderly execution of a proposed project plan

Advanced knowledge of testing methodologies and when certain strategies are recommended

Extensive knowledge and experience working with various operating systems and backend programming in AWS

Professional work experience in analyzing and testing computer software

Excellent documentation skills (comments code, as-built etc.)

Professional certifications

Healthcare experience

Salesforce DevTest experience

Mobile application DevTest in (iOS/Android)

Working with and testing complex rules engines

Enjoys collaborating with distributed teams at all levels 

Self-starter not afraid to bring new ideas forward

Willing to roll up sleeves and be extremely scrappy
