    About the jobCompany

StreamNative enables organizations to build the next generation of messaging and event streaming applications. Leveraging Apache Pulsar and Bookkeeper, we optimize for scalability and resiliency while reducing the overhead management and complexity required by incumbent technologies. We offer Pulsar and StreamNative’s products as a service. StreamNative is building a world-class team passionate about creating amazing products and committed to customer success.

    About the team

The Technical Support Team helps solve complex technical problems via phone, email, and chat. Whether a curious developer or a global Enterprise business with millions of messages a second, our team is always eager to assist.

    About the role

We’re seeking motivated, customer-facing, Customer Reliability Engineers with a problem-solving mindset to support and resolve complex technical issues experienced by our valued customers.

Do you have a strong mix of technical support and engineering experience and love to work with customers? As a Customer Reliability Engineer, you will be a crucial point of contact for all StreamNative’s customers, leveraging your deep technical knowledge and expertise to identify and resolve complex technical problems within Apache Pulsar and across StreamNative’s broader product offerings.

You will act as the customer's key point of contact and serve as the customer’s advocate by employing a Site Reliability Engineering mentality in your problem-solving approach, contributing fixes to the open-source community, and StreamNative’s products.

What You'll Do in the Role

Act as an integral technical support team member by contributing to process development and laying the foundation for growing a world-class team.

Work with customers to triage, debug, and document complex issues they face with their Apache Pulsar and StreamNative Cloud deployments, collaborating with Product and Engineering to develop and implement solutions promptly.

Partner with the Customer Success- and Solutions Engineering teams to ensure customers are successfully onboarded and supported throughout their relationship with StreamNative.

Work with the Document and Training teams to create internal and customer-facing training materials and documentation that will be used to train other team members, customers, and partners.

Participate in on-call rotations to ensure timely responses to production-impacting incidents.

    Your Background

Three to five years of experience working as part of a Technical Support or Site Reliability Engineering team supporting complex deployments.

Fundamental understanding of how distributed systems work and how they are configured in production environments.

Working knowledge of cloud/container computing technologies like AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, OpenShift, and other tools/platforms such as ElasticSearch.

Experience troubleshooting applications running on Linux (resource contention, network bottlenecks, etc.)

    Intelligent, humble, and empathetic.

You strive for excellence, approach problems from an analytical standpoint, develop decisions based on facts and data, and love empowering and mentoring others, always looking for a common ground to move things forward.

    Things We Like to See

You have previously worked with Kafka, Spark, Flink, Cassandra, Pulsar, etc.

Excellent written and verbal communication/relationship skills.

Technical curiosity; you like to play around with technologies and push them to their limits.

You can read and write in multiple languages.

    Requirements

Flexibility to work varying schedules to cover holidays, weekends, and “after-hour” issues.

We are proud of the team we’re building and are committed to equal opportunity employment -- and beyond. We believe diverse experiences and perspectives build a stronger team and a better product. We welcome fresh perspectives and challenge our own assumptions to make StreamNative better.
