    About The Team

    The Crunchyroll Finance Team is made up of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Business Intelligence team members based in San Francisco, Culver City, and Dallas with remote finance teams in Tokyo, Japan and Chisinau, Moldova. The Finance Team is a critical service center for Crunchyroll ensuring that the business foundational and company wide initiatives are met. Our team is diverse, technical and a fun group of tech/media fans. The Accounting function is the backbone of Crunchyroll in ensuring that the financials are accurate, whilst acting as a support function across all departments.     About You:

     

    2-3 years of progressive accounting experience, with emphasis on revenue recognition rules and accounting.

    BS degree in Accounting, Finance or relevant. Big 4 experience and CPA highly desired

    Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/quarter/year-end close process.

    Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, constantly evolving, business environment.

    Strong Excel skills (Lookups, Pivot Tables) and ability to work with large data sets using SQL, or other visualization software.

    Ability to effectively present information with confidence and accuracy to various levels of internal management and external auditors.

    Accuracy and attention to detail.

    Effective interpersonal skills and ability to work cross functionally with different lines of business and process owners.

     

    Pluses:

     

    Advanced experience with NetSuite accounting ERP

    Experience in tech, media, advertising or e-commerce industries

    Experience working with databases or collaborating with data engineers

    Experience in US tax accounting

    Experience with intercompany accounting

     

    A Day In The Life Of Our Revenue Accountant:

     

    Coordinate and be responsible for the accounting for our subscription revenue stream, as well as monthly financial close related tasks such as preparation, review and reconciliation of revenue, deferred revenue schedules, and journal entries.

    Contribute to the development of accounting memos, process flows, and documentation to ensure revenue recognition following accounting standards under ASC 606 and company policy.

    Provide insights into key revenue metrics through collaboration with Business Intelligence, FP&A, and internal management partners.

    Team with external tax advisers and internal product teams to ensure proper accounting and reporting of US sales use and International Value-Added Tax (VAT).

    Help identify and implement process improvements for revenue accounting to scale the team with the growth of the business.

    Participate in monthly, quarterly and yearly revenue forecast procedures.
