As Calculate continues to scale, we’re seeking an Associate with a background in accounting to support our work with startups and the VC community. This role will include acting as accountant and controller to early stage and growing companies.
What You’d Do
Own the financial operations of high growth companies and startups including recognizing revenue, establishing cost bases, producing financial statements and building financial reports
Analyze business performance and communicate financial risks
Work closely with startup founders to identify areas of improvement and implement scalable processes
Assist with ad hoc accounting, tax preparation, and financial analysis projects
Periodically support colleagues and management on strategic initiatives and operational improvements
Effectively and clearly communicate with clients and colleagues across various channels
What You’ve Got
Bachelor’s degree
A strong understanding of accounting principles, like accrual vs. cash, financial statements, general ledgers, relationships between accounts, and journal entries
Highly organized with strong attention to detail
Self-starter to own processes independently with a desire to solve problems collaboratively
1-3 years in an accounting role at a Big-4 or nationally-recognized public firm
