This is a remote position with up to 25% travel required. Travel will include trips to our San Francisco headquarters, Hair Color Bar hubs across the country, and other events.
Who You Are:
You love to derive insights and projections from the study of data. You understand the complexities of an omni-channel business operating in the DTC, retail and salon spaces. You blend a background in retail merchandise planning with traditional demand planning. You build strong relationships with planning counterparts at your retail customer and develop equally strong collaborations with internal stakeholders. You place a high value on a positive company culture because the environment you work in is as important as what you are doing.
What you will do:
Responsible for providing the tools and expertise to bring all departments together to achieve accurate and effective planning and execution of inventory strategies.
Lead the demand/merchandise planning function to consistently deliver against company goals across all three channels of distribution.
Develop strong working relationships with internal stakeholders including: Marketing, Product Innovation, Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, and Hair Color Bar Operations.
Manage the compilation of data from sales forecasting, trend analysis, shipment history, promotional demand, life cycles, and point-of-sale.
Own the continuous improvement and maintenance of the forecast models ensuring they are updated with the most recent sales and promotional plans for each channel.
Partner with all Madison Reed channels to review and reach a consensus demand plan by the outlined due date. This includes MR Direct, Wholesale, Hair Color Bars, and Amazon.
Provide summary of the forecasts to Leadership, Finance, Operations, and Business channels for review and approval.
Track event casuals and outliers for historical records and future forecast impacts.
Track, measure and report on forecast accuracy monthly and quarterly, striving to keep the variance within target.
Demonstrate continuous improvement to increase forecast accuracy to help achieve the company’s inventory targets.
Prepare wholesale performance reporting with key insights at the close of each week / month.
Establish strong working relationships with the retail partner planning and buying teams through regular meetings to review sales trends, forecasts and promotional plans.
Establish and prepare monthly and quarterly reports on key KPI’s and data sets in support of the SIOP cycle.
Communicate with Operations, noting material increase or decrease in forecast versus actual quantities.
Recommend adjustments to optimal inventory levels based on statistical analysis and market trends.
Partner with all Madison Reed channels to develop, analyze and finalize new item forecasts.
Coordinate all new product launch and product phase out SKU transitions with the Supply Chain and Sales teams to maximize the revenue potential while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory exposure.
Support the onboarding of new retail partners as required through collaborative development of store set orders and ongoing replenishment orders with the partner planning and buying teams.
Work closely with Sales and Operations leadership to recommend inventory allocation decisions to achieve service level targets.
Develop and provide reporting to support SIOP reporting requirements by the outlined due date.
Assign accurate item master attributes and categorization for accurate reporting and data integrity.
Support business stakeholders with ad hoc analysis as required.
What you will need:
Bachelor’s degree preferred with strong relevant work experience.
5 - 8 years of merchandise and demand planning experience in a retail and CPG brand setting.
Experience with NetSuite ERP is preferred but not required if the candidate has similar ERP experience on a different platform such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.
Demonstrated exceptional strength in excel based modeling, analysis and data manipulation.
Strong communication skills, ability to be firm but diplomatic and concurrently build effective working relationships.
Rigorous attention to detail including proven ability to manage multiple, competing priorities simultaneously.
Highly organized with the ability to drive high level strategic thinking while also rolling up your sleeves to get the job done with a focus on issue resolution.
Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate in an ambiguous environment to achieve high levels of performance and deliver sustainable results to the team.
