The ideal engineer:

 

Enjoys solving difficult problems and translating those solutions into high performance code

Possesses a solid mix of initiative, imagination, and work ethic

Understands what it takes to work at a start-up, including the need to ‘wear multiple hats’

Considers system architecture and how changes will affect testability, maintainability, and scalability of the system

Constantly works to identify and mitigate security concerns, refactor old code judiciously, and follow development best practices

Understands the importance of automated testing and continuous integration in delivering bug-free, fully test-covered code in short time frames

 

The required skills:

 

3+ years of backend experience building and maintaining high throughput, distributed, multi-threaded web services

A strong command of fundamental data structures and algorithms

The ability to work proficiently in the following areas with the respective tools:

 

 

Languages: Java

Databases: PostgreSQL

Frameworks/Tools: Spring-Boot

Integration: REST, Queuing/Messaging Services

 

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field

NYC Salary Disclosure

In accordance with New York City Local Law 32, the expected salary for this role is between $135,000 and $200,000, plus a comprehensive benefits package. This role may be eligible for additional compensation in the form of bonuses and/or stock options as well. The bottom of our salary range represents the minimum for a candidate who meets the qualifications for the role. All offers to candidates will ultimately be based on that candidate's individual experience and skillset, and not every candidate will qualify for the top end of the salary range.  #LI-Hybrid
