    About The Role

The VP, Internal Communications & Talent Brand sits within our People team and will be a key member of the People Leadership Team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer, this role will have global responsibility over Internal Communications, Talent Brand/Employer Brand, and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) functions. This role is highly cross functional and will be a key partner to Crunchyroll leadership and many team members across the business. The role requires a high-impact leader with a rich blend of experiences, across a range of companies at varied stages of growth and maturity; a leader who knows what great looks like (from an employee experience perspective) in a scaled organization.

Delegate and lead internal communications and employer brand team members, investing in their growth and development.

Define and execute on a consistent and engaging internal communications strategy in partnership with the leadership team.

Build a strong, external employer brand that is well-positioned to attract exceptional, values-aligned talent to the company.

Build and manage our CSR initiatives, such as charitable giving, pro-social campaigns, and volunteer time off (VTO) program.

Use your creative vision to ensure that company initiatives and projects are successfully communicated to employees with consistent voice/tone.

Make use of multiple delivery mediums (including visually rich, digital modes of delivery) to enhance engagement and uptake of messaging.

Resolve necessary internal knowledge management infrastructure and workflows required to support an employee intranet and other employee communications.

Plan, edit and write content for a variety of internal communications channels (ie. internal resource sites, company all staff meetings, email, internal social channels).

Draft messages or scripts from senior executives for presentation to employees in written or spoken form.

Ensure internal messages are consistent and connected across all mediums and for different departments within the company.

Ensure internal messages are consistent and appropriately timed relative to external messages, where applicable.

    Location: San Francisco

Our headquarters is located in downtown San Francisco, where our group of cross-functional experts assemble to create experiences for our passionate communities.

    About You:

Your creative flair inspires a preference towards delivering visually rich, digital communication experiences to help employees connect to the company’s mission and strategy, serve as advocates for the brand, and embrace our values. You’ll participate in driving a highly informed team by using creative and engaging approaches to make ideas and information easily discoverable, consumable and memorable. While you lead with a creative spirit, you are equally oriented around driving complex projects in an organized and expeditious way. You believe that communication designed to inspire our employee audience should be as creative and compelling as anything that would be delivered to our community of anime fans. You are both the producer and director of high quality and highly engaging communication experiences that tell our internal story.

You have 10+ years experience working across a diverse portfolio of companies and industries, and across at least two of internal communications, employer brand, recruitment marketing and/or corporate social responsibility.

You have experience using creative approaches to tackling communication challenges in engaging ways.

You possess excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills as well as the journalistic ability to source stories from employees.

You have experience creating employer brand or recruitment marketing content for social media, digital and physical channels and events.

Having additional experience writing for a variety of different audiences, either personally or professionally, is highly desirable.

You are deeply passionate about the role corporate social responsibility initiatives can play in attracting and engaging mission-aligned talent.

You are an experienced leader with the capability of understanding the lowest level of detail and demonstrating a willingness to "roll up your sleeves" to get things done.

You’re adept at leading the work of a team, delegating and assigning work and owning team outcomes. You combine the need to empower a team with the understanding that delegation should be relative to capability to ensure success.

You have tremendous leadership capacity and you have a successful track record of building and growing high-performing teams.

You love to tackle hard problems and believe that well-executed communication has the ability to create order out of chaos.

You thrive in environments where there is a high-degree of ambiguity and things are prone to rapid change. You are a steady rock when the seas of change can be choppy.

You possess the ability to influence team members and build relationships at all levels of the organization.

You thrive in environments where you can use your super powers of strong problem solving and critical thinking skills while exercising sound judgment.

You have proven experience handling confidential and sensitive information. You exercise discretion and show good judgment; honesty, integrity, and trust-building behaviors in all dealings.

You are adaptable with a keen ability to fly high (focused on strategy) or low (focused on execution) as needed.
