The VP of Client Engineering is responsible for all aspects of consumer facing software development for Crunchyroll and other popular Crunchyroll owned Anime brands. You will lead geographically distributed teams passionate about consumer facing products and experiences including: mobile applications, web experiences, SmartTVs and game consoles. You will use your extensive experience leading software development organizations to inspire and empower your team to deliver quality software that delights our fans. You will build both a vision and strategic roadmap while working as a team to align on short-term tactical initiatives.
About You:
You are an experienced engineer with a consistent track record delivering successful customer facing websites and applications in the entertainment industry. Experience with video streaming would be a plus
You have a minimum of 8+ years of experience leading teams of software engineers at a management level
You are skilled in building highly effective and productive engineering teams.
You are a hardworking problem-solver who thrives in finding solutions to difficult technical challenges
Experienced in multiple technology stacks including mobile (iOS/Android), web (HTML5/related technologies), video streaming and analytics platforms
Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build successful relationships across all levels of the organization
Shown understanding of business/development strategies, project management (agile), defining goals and critical metrics
You have an above average capacity to lead and deliver against several initiatives simultaneously and to prioritize effectively
Strong experience of internationalization and localization to delight fans across the world
A day in the life of our VP, Client Engineering:
Leads the creation and delivery of all components, services and applications across all Crunchyroll products (mobile, web, game consoles and living room devices)
Leads technical planning, strategy and execution efforts in the creation of customer experiences
Partner with Product, Program, Engineering, and DevOps to ensure effective prioritisation, timing and quality commitments while following the SDLC process
Collaborate with the Design teams to ensure products are usable, sophisticated and industry leading
Work with program management to ensure that all individual projects are appropriately supported and delivered successfully
Ensure software development process is deployed accurately for all projects
Establish all team development needs: training, resource management, reallocation of staff, and right sizing the team according to the needs of the business, etc.
Empower teams through communication and awareness of project needs and business impacts
Create and collaborate to build and maintain client platform architecture for each product and related technology stack
Mentor and coach managers and engineers on your teams
