We are hiring for hyper talented full stack software engineers with content, commerce, or creator economy experience (preferred, but we will take people who are willing to get their hands dirty and learn)!
We are looking for our lead engineer to be US based, ideally in our HQ of Los Angeles.
This position is more senior, and we are looking for someone who has experience building and leading world class engineering and technical teams. You would be directly involved in the day to day decision-making process and assist with activities like hiring, fundraising, product development, go-to-market, engineering excellence and culture, company culture and more. You must be a team player who has experience coding from the ground up, developing the infrastructure for scalability, and have a love for clean front-end design. We are looking for someone who has managed a team before, preferrable at an early stage (pre-seed - Series A start-up), or who has been the manager of a team at a larger technology company before and is ready to try their hand at a start up.
The company is in its pre-seed stage, and we have secured funding from both angel investors and institutional investment firms. Our founders have 15 years of combined experience in the space in which we are building, with a strong sense of our roadmap, deliverables, MVP and GTM strategy. We are looking to hire our founding team "Fellowship of the Ring" to help us ship our MVP in Q1 2023. The aim of the company is to become a "unicorn" in the next 5 years and we believe is achievable with our unique/disruptive model that will evolve on concepts like creator economy, content commerce, social commerce, and retail technology.
The Role:
As a founding Head of Engineering, you’ll be in charge of:
Helping to develop and code out the MVP alongside other high performing developers. This role requires you to code, and guide others who are coding to make correct mid to long term technical decisions.
Assist with hiring/ramping a team of software engineers (full stack, front-end, back-end, DevOps, etc)
Working alongside (daily/hourly) the CPO/co-founder with ultimate engineering and architectural ownership
Technical execution of our retail commerce application. You’ll be responsible for shipping high quality features, end-to-end and maintain then once out. You’ve got to have experience in shipping and building scalable offerings from end to end.
You will shape the company’s product, engineering team, and culture.
Ensure that the team's morale and well-being is high, along with high standards for quality and speed of work. As a leader you must be a source of motivation for the team and continually look to raise the bar for every engineering hire.
Align resources to achieve key product and business goals and milestones, including writing and reviewing code, defining engineering structure, resources, operations and KPIs, and both the beta and general release.
Must-have:
High technical aptitude preferrably with experience in Node, Next Swift, React (specifically React Native) (7+ years of experience)
7+ years of recent web and or mobile development experience in front and back-end development languages preferrably building customer exposed web-based software. We need you to code
2-3+ years of experience in managing a team of engineers or being in a team role. Preferrably, you hired most of the team
A proven track record in leveraging cloud service providers and best-in-class third party applications available through APIs and/or SDKs
Ability to own end-to-end mobile app development all the way to production/deployment.
Prior startup founder with pre-seed or seed startup experience OR a strong academic background OR professional experience in top notch software companies
Passionate about great customer experiences
Ability to see around corners and build our experiences to scale.

A desire and track record of measuring trade offs accurely, deciding on the correct course of action - all at high speeds
Comfortable articulating complex technology problems and solutions with others like other technical team members, VCs, business leaders
