About the jobWear a ton of hats as the first full-stack hire for a seed-company. You will own product features and product decisions end-to-end from design to implementation. You will work with seasoned front-end and back-end engineers as well as designers in a fast-paced environment to deliver high quality products. We want someone who can not only plug in and iterate quickly but also someone who brings unique perspectives and vocal ideas to shaping both the engineering team and the product.

We want to make sure that every engineer that comes in can lay a strong foundation for the engineers of the future. This requires not only iterating quickly and being scrappy, but also being able to understand what “perfect” looks like and being able to independently strive towards a proper maintainable and scalable solution. There are people who know how to work solely within pre-existing foundations, and people who know how to build extremely fast without much foundation. Both are important, but we want someone who displays signals they can balance both.

Requirements

 

US citizen, or have TN visa, or do not require any company sponsorship for work

Bachelors in CS

2+ years of work experience in web engineering using a modern Javascript framework. 

Familiarity with React and preferably with Next.js

Familiarity with Typescript: Scoping, closures, contexts, prototypes, classes etc.

Familiarity with Golang and Python

Familiarity with AWS, GCP or Azure. Familiarity with terraform and ECS a plus

Have worked and contributed at a senior level on a product. Ideally helped bring this product from zero to one (making custom components, iterating with design, shipping the product, adding monitoring / jumping on bugs quickly)

Working knowledge of at least one server-side framework, experience integrating and iterating with APIs

Eye for design, product details and polish. Ownership over the end product

Plug into a team of designers and engineers and collaborate to create a kickass product

Collaborate to design frontend and backend systems that are maintainable and scalable

Take product ownership over end products and strive to create good user experiences

Build and manage the proper engineering abstractions

Iterate quickly and independently contribute ideas to help us deliver our MVP

Openly communicate and contribute to the Engineering culture and making work fun :)
