WHAT TO EXPECT
Our SW Development team in Shannon Ireland, that develops various Hardware and software modules and new technologies to enhance the driving experience whilst working towards the goal of autonomous and electrical driving, is currently seeking a Functional Safety Engineer to join the team.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities:
- Delivery of functional safety from systems/features within ADAS and vehicle electrification across the range of Jaguar Land Rover vehicles.
- Assist and contribute to the generation of targets and verification methods that are driven by Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment, Functional Safety Requirements and Functional Safety Analysis.
- Contribute to the delivery of the area onto all programmes, in line with the Functional Safety Engineering discipline outlined by Product Creation Systems.
- Provide technical support and assistance across the department teams on topics relating to functional safety, including issue resolution and objective data analysis.
- Work with Technical Specialists and Research Engineering on Attribute and Function Forward Strategies, including new Function Definition and Failure Mode Avoidance.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
Essential:
- Good relevant experience of applying functional safety on safety related with minimum ASIL C (applying standards such as ISO 26262 and/or IEC 61508).
- Experience in Automotive vehicle propulsion, power architecture, High Voltage, Low Voltage Electrical distribution
- Relevant experience in HW and SW safety analysis, FMEA, Dependent Failure Analysis, AUTOSAR, ASPICE.
- Relevant experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
Desirable
- Desirable experience in applying Functional Safety and Systems Engineering in automotive projects.
- Desirable experience in hardware and/or software development ( >5 years).
- Desirable experience in IBM Rational DOORS, Requirements Management (RM)
