    工作機會描述

Join as an early engineer and build products to prevent money laundering.

    Sandbar:

Sandbar's mission is to improve the health of the global financial system by fighting money laundering and other financial crimes.

By law, financial institutions must monitor transactions for illicit activity. However, most institutions find it difficult to do so effectively; less than 1% of the roughly $6T laundered annually is identified correctly despite US institutions spending $180B on anti-money-laundering efforts. In the industry, many systems produce false-positive rates of over 95%. Consequently, banks and the government must spend extra time and resources on extraneous investigations, taking away resources from finding criminals.

    Product:

To achieve our goal, we ingest and standardize millions of messy data points coming from financial institutions that sign up for the service. Once we have standardized and ingested the data, we can run complex calculations on it, checking for suspicious behavior and building a score around the riskiness of a given profile. If anything is found, we can surface that to our clients. By providing information accessibility, building intuitive workflows and interfaces, allowing for custom processing, and curating accurate data, we can reduce the false-positive rate of our calculations, and reduce the amount of work dedicated to a given investigation.

    You:

We are looking for people who are looking to build a featureful and impactful application. You will have the opportunity to drive technical decisions and collaborate closely with product to make decisions about how what you build can fit into the vision of the product. You will decide how your code is structured, tested, deployed, and managed, building a great foundation for our application going forward. You will build features that span the stack, working in our backend Java codebase, and in our web server and our react app, and work closely with the rest of the engineering team to help bring our product to life.

You will be relied on to be a bit of a swiss army knife, moving around to where you are needed. In places where you don't have experience, you will be relied on to get up to speed quickly and work on things that are potentially outside of your comfort zone, relying on a solid foundation of engineering principles and your experinece to drive positive results.
