About the Role
Soley is seeking an exceptionally talented Senior Data Scientist to join our fast-growing AI/ ML team. The Senior Data Scientist will be responsible for the strategic input & direction of all data analysis & applications that support visualization and statistically-based inference for Soley’s unique drug discovery process.

What You’ll Do…

• Design, develop & deploy user-facing analytic tools & cloud-based pipelines (w/ ML Engineers) that support all necessary analysis (inc visualization) such as, but not limited to dimensionality reduction and other statistical analysis with Soley’s science
• Process data sources of lab experiments with various readouts - explore, clean and featurize datasets on wet-lab (image-based) etc.
• Process research papers, evaluate & integrate commercial & publically available data sources, libraries & tools for drug discovery
• Interact with a cross-functional team of scientists, ML & SW engineers, and biologists to determine requirements and functionality
• Proactively contribute to the planning of our research roadmap. You'll have an impact on defining our next step

What You Bring…

• Bachelor’s degree (Master’s/ PhD preferred) in Science (e.g. Bioinformatics, BioStatistics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy, etc.), Engineering or related fields.
• Required: 6+ years of post-Bachelor industry experience and/or hands-on proven track record as a senior data analyst applying fundamentals of data science & statistics
• Demonstrable ability in feature engineering prior to ML modeling (e.g. UMAP. Familiarity with the evaluation of ML models is.
• Experience working with imaging data with hands-on advanced proficiency in handling and analyzing large data sets (Python or R) is preferred.
• Experience in biotechnology industry is a plus (eg applied mathemathics techniques and statistical model for interpretation and analysis of interrelated drug discovery: biological and chemical data – ex microscope image based, genetics, omics).
• Solid fundamentals of linear methods, clustering, dimensionallity reduction and other modeling techniques to efficiently communicate findings from patterns in real-world data.
• Profound skills in conducting Exploratory Data Analysis (EDA) to critique data sufficiency, balance, noise and bias.
• A self-reliant problem-solver who also excels in teamwork, characterized by superb written and verbal communication abilities, and strong attention to detail.
