The Role:

As we aim to reshape the Gen Z shopping rewards experience, we’re hunting for a Senior Software Engineer to drive the evolution of the Cray mobile app, and align our technology with our business goals.

Location:

Berkeley (20-minute walk from UC Berkeley right near the Blue Bottle). Working at our Berkeley office on University Avenue is a must for at least 3 days a week – and we can guarantee it will be the funnest work enviornment you've ever been a part of.

Key Responsibilities:

• Spearhead the design, development, and deployment of new features in the Cray mobile app.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to capture requirements, ensuring our technology effectively addresses user and business needs.
• Lead code and design reviews, fostering high quality and maintainable code.
• Contribute to architectural decisions and help shape the evolution of our software.
• Design and develop front-end (React/React-Native, JavaScript,Typescript) and back-end (Node.js, Typescript) applications, and deploy it all on AWS.
• Mentor junior engineers, promoting best practices and cultivating a culture of continuous improvement.
• Interface with B2B and B2C stakeholders to understand and meet their technological needs.

Qualifications:

• 2+ years of prior experience at an early stage startup (Series A or earlier) is a must.
• 4+ years of software engineering experience, preferably with mobile application development.
• Strong understanding of iOS and/or Android architecture and application lifecycle.
• Fluency with common mobile development tools (IDEs, dependency managers, version control, etc.)
• Experience integrating mobile apps with service-oriented architectures and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with designing and developing high quality back-end ( Node.js & Typescript) and front-end (React.js/React Native) applications.
• An intuitive understanding of web frameworks, APIs, cloud infrastructure, information security, and databases (MySQL preferred).
• Experience with the development and support of major cloud infrastructure and platform services (AWS).
• Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to think strategically, understanding business objectives, and translating them into technical solutions.
