About our team
At Turo, we recognize that great design is the cornerstone of our mission to revolutionize how the world uses its 1.5+ billion cars. It's not just about looks; it's about enabling entrepreneurial hosts to thrive, helping guests find their ideal car for every journey, and supporting them before, during, and after their trip. Here, design is not just valued—it's essential, driving our commitment to research-led, customer-centric experiences that empower our community and enhance every trip.
Your role and impact
As a visionary leader reporting to the SVP of Design, you will engage your team of six designers at the forefront of transforming our insurance products and services, creating a bold new path in the car sharing industry. Some examples of your team’s problem spaces include but are not limited to, host and guest protection plans, vehicle quality and safety, identity verification, managing incidentals (such as tickets, tolls, and EV charging reimbursements), managing damage and claims, and optimizing our trip fees to grow Turo profitably.
Your role is central to Turo's ethos, ensuring every product interaction is not just cohesive and high-quality but also supports our team's mission: to deliver an insurance and protection experience that is fair, fast, and hassle-free while utilizing the power of our data to manage financial risk for Turo.
Your leadership will be pivotal in helping your team uncover customer and business needs through deep research; therefore, you should be adept at seeing patterns in data and coaching your team to turn those observations into product design strategies, enabling your team to drive innovation, navigate trade-offs with cross-functional partners, and lead strategic design initiatives. These aren't just tasks; they're the building blocks of setting experiential ‘north stars’ for Turo, encapsulating our commitment to a user experience that’s intuitive and backed by data-informed decision-making.
