    As the Director of SEM, you will be a key driver in shaping and executing our SEM strategy and programs. This role requires a seasoned professional with a deep understanding of paid search, a strategic approach to large budget management, and expertise with various attribution models.     Overall Strategy

    • Partner with the VP, Growth Marketing and Director of Performance Marketing to align with overall company strategy and priorities
    • Continually monitor macro-environmental trends impacting customer behavior
    • Monitor and report on changes in our market share as well as changes in a competitive landscape
    • Stay current with advances in digital marketing

    Paid Search (SEM) Strategy and Execution

    • Develop and implement comprehensive paid search strategies aligned with business goals
    • Oversee the management and optimization of large-scale SEM campaigns across multiple lines of business and platforms
    • Develop near and long-term strategies, roadmaps, and oversee day-to-day tactics that increase revenue,conversions, margins, and desired ROAS and CACs
    • Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to implement innovative SEM strategies
    • Spearhead continual reporting of key channel KPIs to C-Team, providing data-driven insights to inform recommended actions

    Budget Management

    • Manage and allocate large marketing budgets effectively across platforms, campaigns and LoBs
    • Collaborate with finance team on budgetary forecasts and financial models to optimize spending while achieving business objectives
    • Implement testing methodologies to identify the most efficient allocation of resources

    Performance Optimization and Marketing Attribution

    • Utilize advanced analytics to drive insights and continually refine strategies for maximum ROAS and most efficient CACs
    • Collaborate with the marketing and analytics team on attribution models to accurately measure the impact of SEM
    • Track, measure, and report on key performance indicators
    • Oversee development and execution of a methodical testing of ad copy and custom landing pages
    • Collaborate with the analytics team to create and improve SEM performance dashboards

    Team leadership and development

    • Lead and develop a team responsible for day-to-day management and execution of paid search, maintained internally, or through agencies and vendors
    • Provide leadership and insights to foster collaboration and innovation within the team

    Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including marketing, analytics, and creative, to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to SEM
    • Provide POV and recommendations for MarTech tools and platforms to drive performance
    • Work with data and analytics team on defining and refining success conversion metrics (e.g. high intent converters, pLTV) and attribution models that best align with our business goals

    Required Experience, Knowledge & Skills

    • 10+ years of experience managing large scale SEM programs
    • 5+years of experience leading and developing a team
    • Experience with subscription business models, LTV and longer conversion/purchase journeys
    • Familiarity and experience with the latest tools and emerging platforms within the search
    • Ability to analyze business data trends to inform decisions that will fuel company growth
    • Strong analytical skills with ability to drive meaningful actions from large data sets
    • Ability to succinctly present data and communicate recommendations, written, and verbal
    • Exceptional copy writing and editorial skills
    • Proficiency in MS Office, Google suite, Business Intelligence tools
    • Ability to manipulate large data sets
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
    • A strong, self-motivated leader, who thrives on collaborating with teams across the organization
    • An accountable, organized individual with great attention to detail and focus on quality of results
    • Experience with two-sided marketplaces and balancing of supply and demand, is a plus
    • Working knowledge of display advertising, video advertising, and programmatic display, is a plus

    Salary Range: $150,000 to $175,000

    The base salary range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the national salary range for this position. *Actual salaries may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance.The range listed is just one component of Care.com’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include annual bonuses and short- and long-term incentives. In addition, Care.com provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, life, and disability insurance, a generous 401K employer matching program, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO).
