C3 AI has an opening for a Sr. Manager, Payroll located onsite at our headquarters in Redwood City, California.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee global payroll and review all payroll related changes including benefits and tax deductions (medical, dental, vision, 401(k), GTL, healthcare FSA, dependent care FSA).
- Understand the GAAP accounting impact of regular and specific payroll transactions in order to being able to appropriately account for it.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and international tax laws.
- Manage daily payroll processing of equity stock transactions including option exercises, RSUs, and ESPP for proper income tax reporting and tax withholding.
- Coordinate and review support package for one-time bonus payments.
- Perform review of international payroll inputs, funding, results, and statutory filings.
- Review 401(k) contributions and loan reports to 3rd party.
- Review quarterly 941 filings, annual W-2s and reconcile to payroll records.
- Review all Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs) payroll invoices.
- Work with payroll provider on new work state setup and payroll tax registration.
- Partner with Human Resources and international payroll provider on general payroll matters and resolve global payroll issues.
- Provide ad hoc reporting to Finance and Human Resources on 401(k) audit, workers comp audit, insurance renewals, government surveys, payroll cash flows.
- Review payroll journals, account reconciliations and payroll fluctuations analysis for month-end close.
- Participate in annual audit and SOX requests.
- Continuously improve the payroll process and drive system automation.
- Manage and mentor the payroll team.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of experience in leading a global payroll team.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field of study.
- Experience with high-growth companies, ideally in the Software as a Service (SaaS) and/or Platform as a Service (PaaS) industry.
- Ability to deliver results and meet expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Efficient and accurate in day-to-day responsibilities, but adaptable to changing priorities as they arise.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- NetSuite Payroll experience a plus.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
