    Salary: £46,851 per annum
    Contract: Permanent (Full time)
    An exciting opportunity has opened up at The British Museum for an experienced museum professional to lead the Registrar’s Office department, which is responsible for the day-to-day movement, care, and presentation of the collection. This involves maintaining the collection and making it available in London, as well as enabling it to travel safely and be enjoyed by audiences across the UK and worldwide.

    In this vital role, you will ensure that appropriate structures, processes and skills are in place to ensure successful delivery of gallery developments, exhibition programmes, the international and national touring exhibition programmes, the loans programme, and day-to-day collections management activities across the Museum. The post-holder will be responsible for developing and implementing common standards and processes for collections management and loans whilst working in line with relevant Museum strategies.

    The successful candidate will have demonstrable experience of leading teams in the cultural sector, organisational change, delivery of a challenging and varied programme, and planning. Proven experience of project management, reviewing processes, and strategic planning is essential.

    We are looking for a skilled communicator and influencer, who is delivery focused and is experienced in dealing with a variety of stakeholders at all levels. As a strong facilitator and organiser, you will have the confidence to manage with an inclusive and consultative style.
