Job description & requirements

You will be part of our core development team that develops and maintains our Dashboard and backend systems that enable our customers to setup and manage their events on Pigeonhole Live. Our backend systems are built on Symfony with Backbone.js and Marionette on the frontend. You will be working on core dashboard functionality, reporting tools and integrations with other platforms. You will also build enterprise-level features for our customers and partners.

You will also work closely with our product design team to deliver new, innovative features and platform improvements to our customers. You will build extensible and complex web applications in a modern PHP environment. You will join a fast-paced team focused on shipping regularly (multiple times a month) new innovative features.

Apart from working with fellow engineers, you will also work closely with our product design team, which places strong emphasis on UI/UX, as well as our devops team, which owns the infrastructure and supports the engineers in CI/CD. This all in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You will be involved from the early conceptualisation of new platform improvements, all through the end when these are finally shipped and available to our customers globally.

We are a small team of 20+, comprising of software engineers, devops engineers, product designers and account representatives. We expect to double our headcount in the coming year.

 

Skills we are looking for:

• Strong in OOP PHP
• Expert-level in at least one modern framework like Symfony, Laravel, Yii
• Competent in designing, building and scaling systems
• Good software engineering (Design patterns and abstractions)
• Frontend development skills - HTML5, CSS3
• Experience with MySQL
• Experience deploying on cloud platforms (especially AWS)
• Knowledge in analytics a plus (especially ElasticSearch)

Competitive salary commensurate with your experience. Fresh graduates, mid to senior level engineers are all welcome. We will sponsor your visa/work passes, but we don't have a relocation scheme. We’re open to your needs and requirements to help you excel on the job.

Fresh graduates can apply if you have prior experience in your own personal projects.
